How to measure your child's foot step by step
At Pomkids, the perfect size leaves room to move. Forget the traditional belief that children's shoes should be tight. In respectful footwear, the right size is the one that offers the exact margin to grow, play and feel free. Our barefoot designs are designed to accompany the natural development of their feet without pressure or limits. Use this guide to find their ideal measurement, because choosing the right size is the first step towards a healthy stride. At Pomkids, we don't adapt the foot to the shoe; we adapt the shoe to the foot.
Find the ideal size in 3 steps:
1. Take the actual measurement of your child's foot in centimeters (if you haven't measured it yet, check the steps in the "Size calculator" tab).
2. Look for that exact measurement in the first column below. Don't add extra centimeters, we've already calculated the healthy growth margin (0.8 to 1.2 cm) for you.
3. Done! The middle column will tell you which size to add to your cart.
- The ideal margin: In barefoot shoes, we recommend leaving between 0.8 cm and 1.2 cm of free space. Not so the shoe is loose, but so the toes have full freedom to stretch while walking (propulsion phase).
- On the edge?
If your child's foot measures exactly the maximum of a size (e.g., 14.2 cm), we recommend choosing the next size up to ensure the shoe respects their anatomy throughout its lifecycle. - Different feet: If one foot measures more than the other, always choose the size based on the longer foot.
Follow these simple steps to ensure you choose the correct size for your child. Barefoot shoes should allow free movement of the toes.

Paper and wall
Place a piece of paper on the floor, against the wall. Have your child stand on it with their heel touching the wall.
-
02
Mark the toe
Holding a pencil vertically, mark the longest point of the foot (usually the big toe). Do this for both feet.
-
03
Measure
Measure the distance from the heel line to the tip of the longest toe. Note: make sure to measure to the longest toe, which isn't always the big toe.

If you are between two sizes, always choose the larger one. Measure the foot at the end of the day, when it is most expanded from activity.
